(New Course) The Ideal Muslim 2
This module is based on the book “The Ideal Muslim” authored by Dr. Ali Hashimi. It will be focusing on how to be the Ideal Muslim, as taught by our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.
The Ideal Muslim is a man of the highest moral character. In his relationship with his Rabb, himself, family, parents, relatives, friends and the community at large, he has a most excellent example in the Prophet of Islam s.a.w. His idealism is further strengthened by the characters of the first generation of Muslims who excelled in all the various fields of human endeavour. He is reassured by the teachings of Islam that he also can reach these noble heights by working to improve his character daily.
1. True Islamic personality as defined by the Quran and Sunnah
2. Overview of the way in which the Prophet s.a.w and his Companions lived
3. Practical aspects of a truly Islamic lifestyle
4. Hold firm to the distinct character of our faith, as prescribed by Allah and revealed through His Prophet s.a.w
This module focuses on chapter 1, “The Muslim & his Lord”; learning ways on what a Muslim should do to preserve his relationship with Allah.
Among the sub topics that will be touched on:
1- Being alert towards our surroundings
2- Being obedient to the commandments of Allah
3- Regularly perform duties & good deeds required by Islam
4- Always paying zakat
5- Fasting in the month of Ramadan
6- Performing hajj
7- Being a true servant of Allah
8- Always reading the Quran
